The Brickfield pond is a 9 acre former clay pit situated in the near centre of the seaside town of Rhyl.
The lake forms part of the Denbighshire county council Brickfield nature reserve which gives 24hr public access. The lake is a mature well grown haven of wildlife and a treasure trove for the carp and course angler alike. The water quality is excellent however it often holds rampant beds of Canadian pond weed which can make fishing a challenge at certain times of the year.
There are 12 fishable swims which include 4 large doubles, all swims are gravel and very rarely flood.
The lake would best be described as between intermediate and advanced in skill level in respect of the carp fishing and the course fishing is of beginner level although due to the variety of the depths big bags are extremely rare.
