Stunning Natural Lake offering Coarse fishing (top lake) and Carp fishing (bottom lake) in beautiful surroundings.
Ham Green Lake (or Lakes, as it is split in two) has been around a long time and is a very natural and beautiful venue. We know that the road crossing the bottom lake was originally roman. The middle of the lake divides the boundary between Pill and Abbots Leigh. The lake was used as a water supply for the Hospital in Ham Green. Ham Green Hospital was used to treat patients returning from the Crimean war, it was also an isolation hospital. Bill, the owner, used to fish the lake way back in the 1960’s. The lake was then owned by the City of Bristol Angling Club and you had to also get a day ticket from Veal’s fishing tackle shop. Over the year’s many things’s have happened to the lake and has changed hand’s a few times. At present, Bill Hunt. Bill and his bailiff Tom have done wonders to bring it up to a fantastic venue to fish. The lake is split in two making it possible to create the top lake as a coarse lake and the bottom lake as a carp lake. The top lake was recently restocked with over 11,000-course fish, a mixed batch of Roach, Rudd, Bream, Perch and Tench. There is car parking at the end of the bottom lake.
Ham Green Lake is tucked away down Chapel Hill Lane and is best accessed from the Eden Office Park, (West) end of the lane. The lane is narrow so please drive sensibly.
Sat Nav is reliable to the postcode, BS20 0FHL and there is parking on site.
